I taught ESL online to Taiwanese adults and have to agree with your assessment. I had such wonderful students. Smart, eager to learn, and very compassionate. They were plugged into social justice issues, which for many of my students included animal issues. I’ve never been to Taiwan but this post made me miss it–and my students! Thanks for sharing.
